Radiant, Sweet, and the epitome of Finer Womanhood at its best are just a few attributes to describe our fearless leader…

Mrs.  Stacey J. Smith graduated from Lemoyne-Owen College in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts where she majored in English. She matriculated to the University of Mississippi where she studied English Literature, graduating in 1989 with a Master of Arts degree. Her love for English, learning, and all things books  doesn't stop there. In 2014, she graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a Master of Library and Information Science.

Mrs. Smith, a proud Memphis native, currently works with the City of Memphis at the Benjamin L. Hooks Library. She is married to Julian H. Smith and they have three adult children, Anastasia (Anna), Julian and Regina.  She is a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Smith became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated on the campus of LeMoyne-Owen College through the Pi Alpha Chapter on April 1, 1983.  For the past 34 years, she’s been devoted to upholding Zeta’s founding principles of Scholarship, Service, Finer Womanhood, and Sisterhood.  In 1997, she joined the Astounding Alpha Eta Zeta Chapter where she’s served as Undergraduate Advisor (Rho Gamma Chapter), Youth Advisor (Pearlettes) for many years and has served on numerous committees and service projects.  Presently, she serves as our chapter President and the State of TN Secretary. Mrs. Smith is a proud legacy, where she gets to share her love for Zeta and the sisterhood with her oldest daughter, Anna.

We are also honored to have two of our very own members, Donna R. Williams, as our Immediate Past Tennessee State Director and Charlise Clark Gwin, as our new Tennessee State Director! The Astounding Alpha Eta Zeta Chapter is the first chapter in the state to have back to back State Directors as members in 40 years!

Mrs. Donna R. Williams was appointed as the 14th State Director of Tennessee for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. by the 24th International President, Mary Breaux Wright in 2012; and she completed her term in July 2018. She joined Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.  while attending Memphis State University in Spring 1984.  She diligently served Rho Gamma Chapter during her collegiate years and immediately transferred to Alpha Eta Zeta, AHZ, upon graduation. Mrs. Williams has uninterrupted years of active service and is a  Diamond Life Member and has held several leadership positions in the sorority, such as Past  Chair  of the Executive Board for Tennessee, former Miss Tennessee Zeta Pageant  Coordinator and within the chapter as past president, vice-president, undergraduate advisor, youth advisor and chairperson of various committees.  She is the Immediate Past Chair of the Board of Directors for Alpha Eta Zeta-DOVE Foundation, Inc.; which is the non-profit entity of the Memphis Graduate Chapter, but she still serves as a Director of the foundation board. Mrs. Williams is also a proud legacy, whereas her daughters, Dannitria J. Williams (also member of AHZ) and Deonna R. Williams are proud members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

Mrs. Charlise Clark Gwin was appointed as the 15th State Director of Tennessee for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. by our 25th International President, Valerie Hollingsworth-Baker in August 2018. She joined Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. as a charter member for the Kappa Pi Chapter at the University of Minnesota in March 1997.  Mrs. Clark Gwin holds a Bachelors of Science in Business from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and became a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in MN, in 2002.  Over the years, she has resided in and served Zeta on the state and local levels, in Minnesota, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Florida (she has resided in Memphis twice) and is a life member. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.   In 2015, Mrs. Clark Gwin became the Chief Financial Officer of a non-profit charter school network in Memphis, TN.  She actively attends Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church and is a newlywed, having married her husband Sam Gwin in November 2017.
